Albert Dorman Honors College

Built in 1911, Colton Hall is one of the oldest buildings on NJIT's campus. The five-story building has tall 14-ft high ceilings, reflecting its original purpose as a factory.  The hall was named after Charles A. Colton, who was the first director of the Newark Technical School.

 The NJIT Makerspace, which is open to the public, offers training courses in a variety of formats ranging from small-group sessions to full-scale courses covering major manufacturing equipment and technologies. Companies can collaborate with students and faculty members on research and development projects or send employees for customized training tailored to their needs. 

The current building for the College of Architecture and Design at the New Jersey Institute of Technology opened in 1998 as part of a construction or renovation project at NJIT.  A soaring "kinetic" atrium at the entrance connects the old and new buildings while preserving the identity of each.  It provides an educational environment that makes it a pleasure in which to teach and learn.

The 220,000-square-foot NJIT Wellness and Events Center provides flexible program spaces that will promote the health and well-being of our students, as well as support their academic pursuits, connect the campus to the professional community, and deliver training facilities that will enhance the development of our Division I student-athletes.

The former Central High School has been transformed into a state-of-the-art STEM teaching and learning hub. This structure is a critical anchor for teaching and learning in Newark, with a primary focus on biology.
